A Day in the Life.
Hello, my name is Zac Ames. I am an avid fisherman and to me it is more than a hobby but more of a way of life. I have been fishing ever since I was young and I plan on doing it until the day I die. For this assignment we had to shoot a typical day in your life, and for me choosing a topic was quite easy since I fish almost everyday. So of course I chose fishing.
Story Board
The beginning process of the story came a script, and after we had that done we began to work on a storyboard. Personally I thought this was one of the hardest parts of the assignment. Trying to get all of the right camera angles and shots for the video.
IPhone Alarm going off SFX: “radar” sound.
Stretching, looking at the top of the tent SFX:Yawn
Hands on view of grabbing my glasses. SFX: Crickets
Hands on view of tying my boots. SFX:Crickets
Open tent. SFX: Tent zipping.
Coming out of tent.
Putting backpack on.
Walking away from tent.
Fast walking down the trail. SFX:Birds Chirping, Footsteps.
Walking past camera. SFX: Birds chirping, Footsteps
Back of my head showing the lake in the background.
Messing with the fishing pole checking my drag, line tension, and bait.
Getting a nice rhythm before I throw my first cast.
Casting out.
Bait hitting the water.
Side view retrieving bait slowly, making a few pops along the way. SFX: Cranking of the pole.
View shot of casting out again. SFX Cranking of the pole
Retrieving bait. SFX Cranking of the pole.
Animatic Images
Next we had to make an animatic Image video.  What this basically consisted of was putting the storyboard into a live action video with your script.  It gave us a real understanding on how all the video clips would fall in with the audio. One of the best stages to make sure the video stays on track.
Final Video
The final video consisted of using all of the other previous elements and putting them in to your video.
This included audio, video, sound effects, transitions, and titles. Over the course of several weeks I shot countless times to get the right shot, remembering to stay along with the storyboard as much as possible.  This is really where the whole creative process came together.
Public Service Announcement
For this public service announcement we had to make a short video to make an awareness message.  I choose my topic on the Department of Motor Vehicles.  As everyone knows the DMV can be a pain in the you know what.  My awareness message had three easy steps to make your time more enjoyable as well as tips to make it go by faster.
